NATIONAL PRAYER 4-1-2020

PRAYER FOR THE NATION 4-1-2020

Heavenly Father,  we have no King but Jesus,  but we do have a President – Donald J. Trump – who has been elected to oversee the governing of  this nation. With his election to the presidency came a great door of opportunity for Godly effectual leadership;  but it came with many adversaries. (I Corinthians 16:9)  You have said in Your word to us we should not be terrified by our adversaries (Philippians 1:28),  and we are to fear not as You have commanded us so many times in so many scriptures.

We have been exhorted to pray for those in authority “…that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

1 Timothy 2:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;”

Now Father, in supplications we ask that You restore to us the provisions of our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our Rule of Law that established this nation as a nation under God in the beginning.  Your word is established throughout our history and cannot be erased, but many lies, omissions, and unconstitutional court rules have been used to undermine truth in our nation.  Our founders petitioned You to help them and they relied upon divine providence in all that they set out to do.  They honored You and You honored them with victory.  Save us again from tyrants, oppressors, unjust leadership, unjust judges, false witnesses, false accusers,  and now those who hated us and hate You.  You brought our founders out in the beginning and we ask You to bring us out now just as You did them in the beginning.  Those things, and people who  trouble our nation today are not too hard for You.

In prayers we ask You to make President Trump to be as a wise king in all of his ways, and means of governing our nation.  Give him insight into everything You want him to attend to during his time in office.

  • “A wiseking scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.”(Proverbs 20:26KJV)
  • “A wiseking sifts out the wicked [from among the good] And drives the [threshing] wheel over them [to separate the chaff from the grain].”AMP
  • “A wise king is able to discern corruption and remove wickedness from his kingdom.” TPT

Set around President Trump people like unto those led by Daniel who had the sole responsibility of seeing that no harm came to the king, in our case President, and make it possible for him to govern efficiently.

Daniel 6:1-2 TLB (See KJV and other English translation at Biblegateway that refer to no harm coming to him.)  Darius divided the kingdom into 120 provinces, each under a governor. The governors were accountable to three presidents (Daniel was one of them) so the king could administer the kingdom efficiently.”

Make our President wise in all of his dealings with people, nations; and especially with those who lead the people astray like many in the media, and corrupt politicians.  Cause him to discern the difference between those who give him wise counsel from You, and those who rely upon ungodly wisdom, and political strategies to destroy our nation instead of helping our nation, especially in crisis.  Uncover every hidden thing,  expose the deceitful, and do not allow our President to be ill informed or uninformed of the evil devices set against him and us, or those who have devised these evil devices and strategies.  Do for us what You did for Jerusalem in Isaiah 28:14-18.  We have had scornful men and women in leadership in the past and many remain in positions of authority even now.  We need You to clean house and help our President to do what is necessary to remove those who seek to do us harm, and seek to interfere with and hinder him in doing Your will.

May the angels watch over him, his staff,  his family and all that is his and theirs that nothing be loss because of evil doers.  Father,  provide this protection at all times and in all places as he governs the nation seeing to it that Your will is accomplished for Christ’s sake because of the price Christ paid to redeem us and reconcile us to You;  for our sake because we live here,  and, for Your glory that Your name will be glorified in this nation again.

In intercession,  we pray that You will have mercy on us, and forgive us individually and as a nation giving us grace and more grace.  Father,  with confidence we believe there is a remnant in this nation who still look to You, and many intercessory prayer groups interceding for the President, the nation and the church.  In the scriptures it is written that there is no restraint to You to deliver by many or by few.

1 Samuel 14:6 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

And Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the Lord will work for us, for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few.”

We know that Jesus sits at Your right hand ever making intercession for us  because it is written;  and we give thanks for His intercession for us daily knowing that without His intercession we could have been destroyed long ago.

Romans 8:34 King James Version (KJV)

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

Roman 15:4 King James Version(KJV)

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

Now, Father we choose to do our part to intercede for our nation in repenting,  honoring, and obeying Your word that is so often quoted,  but not obeyed.

2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Teach us what this verse means in practical application to our daily lives.  Cause it to come alive, and cease to just be words on a page and something that sounds religious.  Make it real in every sense of what You asked and required of those who are called by Your name.

Heavenly Father,  we need You to heal our nation,  but You need us to repent, humble ourselves, pray,  seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways.  Father some have,  but some have not.  Some have been taught so much error and compromise that they no longer know what is wicked in Your sight.  Open the eyes of the those blinded by lies,  the ears of those who have turned a deaf ear to the truth seeking to not offend others, and to be politically correct.  Father, show us that when we do these things, we remain ignorant of You, Your Word, and Your ways, thereby,  offending and forsaking You. Keep us from following other gods in order to  conform to this world, but rather to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Romans 12:2 King James Version (KJV)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

2 Timothy 4:3-4

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Heavenly Father,  have mercy on us,  forgive our sin and many transgressions as individuals,  and as a nation.  Repentance is required and we choose to repent for our sins, and those who sinned before us by doing and allowing those things that were evil in Your sight to go unchallengedWe choose life. We pray for Your will to be done in earth as it is in heaven. We ask You to forgive us and those who came before us for not being sober and vigilant to watch and pray. Save us, restore us, and preserve us to do Your will,  and return to our beginning foundation for Christ’s sake, our sake, and for Your glory.  Amen.
