CHRISTIANS SHOULD KNOW THAT JUST AS ISAIAH 28:15 HAPPENED IN JERUSALEM THEN, IT HAS HAPPENED IN OUR USA NOW, BUT, JUST AS GOD WAS GOD THEN, HE IS STILL GOD NOW.
Heavenly Father, and God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, You are our God, and we will have no other. Our founders appealed to You in their time of oppression, and You heard them and delivered them from tyrants and tyranny. They honored You and You honored them.
As it is now, some have kept covenant with You, but others have betrayed the faith. Some have repented as it is written in II Chronicles 7:14 and turned back to You with their whole hearts, but many have not and some have even hardened their hearts against You, and those who stand for You, and with You and Your word.
Isaiah 59:15 is happening even now. Evil has gained a foothold in our nation and some of the churches and strongholds exist to destroy us. But You have given us mighty weapons. You have sent warnings to us over the decades just as You sent warning to Israel and Judah – some heard and other persecuted those You spoke to and sent to warn us. Your people are divided, but Christ is not divided. He is the only mediator between God and man.
We repent for the sin of the nation and the church, and ask Your forgiveness. We repent for all those who have gone astray following after other gods and forsaking the covenant that our founders established with You. Our very first President honored You and gave thanks, and many after him did the same. They honored You and gave thanks to You for Your many blessing upon our nation.
Now, Father we who honor You come to You again doing what is written in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Father we do this with our whole heart asking You to heal our land. These words have not become idle words and platitudes to us. We turn to You with our whole hearts knowing that we as a nation and as Your people are in need of Your help because our deliverance can only come from You.
Just as it was in the days of Jehoshaphat our eyes are on You. Many have prayed and looked to You, but others have refused to enter into the battle, but we know that You are able to save us by many or by few. Our unrighteousness as a people and as a nation is before You daily. It is because of Your great Love, longsuffering, and mercy that we yet stand as a nation and as a people. Those of us who are called by Your name do humbled ourselves and do seek Your face, and do pray, and do turn from our wicked ways denouncing and resisting evil as far as we know and as best we can, but You Father God are greater than all of our enemies. Save us from all of your enemies domestic and foreign.
Sin has been exalted, our nation has been invaded by those who hate You and us and intend to do us harm. Cause all of their plans and devices to fail and make us free again. Our founders came to You for deliverance in the beginning, and now we come to You again asking for salvation and deliverance from all evil and that You reestablish truth and righteousness in our nation again. In the beginning our moral compass pointed to Jesus and our moral code came from You. I/We pray that You will make it so again. Forgive us again and have mercy on us. Sin has been our reproach. Make us righteous again in Your sight, save us, and give us leaders in the nation and in the church who will honor, obey, serve, and follow You giving Your word and Your will first place in every decision. All this we ask in the name Jesus our intercessor, our Lord, our Savior, and our soon coming King. Help us to stand in faith and occupy until He comes. Amen and Amen.
